Q: Tell us a little about Spring House Window & Door in 1-3 sentences
A: Spring House Window and Door began 35 years ago and now has three locations (Spring House, Malvern, and Hockessin), each independently owned. Our primary window vendor is Marvin, and we also sell vinyl windows by Sunrise, Provia, and Vytex. Our entry doors are provided by Provia and Therma Tru. We provide installation for most of our residential customers and also supply builders and contractors.
Q: What is your favorite part of your business?
A: My favorite part of the business is handling the contractor supply. Providing quotes and doing plan takeoffs and managing long-term relationships with recurring customers.
Q: What makes your company unique?
A: We are an installing dealer. We buy our products directly from our manufacturers and, for our residential customers, we install them ourselves, giving the homeowner a single point of contact for any issues or concerns that could arise in the future. Our contractor customers have direct access to the owner at any time for quotes, questions, or concerns.
Q: What drew you to your business and your line of work?
A: I bought the business from the founder in 2017. I was attracted to the long-term reputation and success of the business, but I also saw opportunities for growth,
Q: What do you enjoy most or what has been most positive about working as a trade partner with THS?
A: Total Home Solution has been an excellent partner for us. THS leans on us for our fenestration expertise, and they know they are getting quality products with outstanding customer service.
Q: What are your interests outside of work?
A: Outside of work I enjoy kayaking on Marsh Creek with my family.
Q: What, if anything, are you currently binge-watching? Or reading?
A: I am binge-reading the Aubrey-Maturin series of novels by Patrick O'Brien (e.g. "Master and Commander").
