Q&A with Shannon Baker - Owner, Tribe Kitchen Design Co.
Q: Tell us a little about Tribe in 1-3 sentences.
A: Tribe Kitchen Design Co is a boutique style kitchen and bathroom showroom, nestled just outside Philadelphia, and is dedicated to delivering a very hands on approach through exceptional customer service and forward thinking design. Our mission is to redefine the way the client envisions their living spaces by seamlessly blending personalized attention with progressive and innovative concepts. With a commitment to excellence, we strive to transform our client's kitchen and/or bathroom dreams into reality, setting new standards in luxury, functionality, and aesthetic appeal.
Q: What is your favorite part of your business?
A: My favorite aspect of the business… bringing individuals' unique visions to life, weaving together their aspirations and preferences into a harmonious and functional space that reflects both personality and practicality. In other words, helping the client leave their unique fingerprint on their space… along with Tribe’s magic touch.
Q: What makes your company unique?
A: Our unique edge lies in our blend of design sensibilities and unparalleled customer service. We are female owned and operated and strive to empower leadership of women, shaping our business into a unique and inspiring force in the industry.
Q: What drew you to your business and your line of work?
A: I love creating... simply put. For years, I found myself neglecting the unique gifts and talents I possessed, settling into a routine that failed to resonate with my true self. It was a period of self-discovery and realization that prompted me to take a leap of faith, breaking free from the constraints of the familiar and pursuing the path I truly desired. Finding myself standing at a crossroad, I made the courageous decision to step into the unknown, embracing the risks and uncertainties that came with chasing my dreams instead of remaining in a space that left me unfulfilled. I have always had a passion for all things home and knew that this was the path for me. Never.looked.back.
Q: What do you enjoy most or what has been most positive about working as a trade partner with THS?
A: Undoubtedly, the people! Tom and his team are simply lovely to work alongside. It is wildly fulfilling to work alongside my fellow tradesmen and tradeswomen. Their craftsmanship is pretty stellar too!
Q: What are your interests outside of Tribe/ Work?
A: Travel. Travel and more travel.
Q: What, if anything, are you currently binge-watching or reading?
A: Just finished up Outlander (for the 3x time). Cant pass up a good period piece (nerd side alert). The storyline, cast, costumes and settings... outstanding.
